Today, I wanted to show you guys my natural nails to see what I am working with. As I mentioned in one of my first blogs, my nails are quite strong to begin with however, since I started painting my nails every few days they have got quite a bit stronger. I can't even bend them now when I try to push them down with my fingers! I am guessing it is due to applying strength building base coats before I apply my colored polish. This step of using a base coat is extremely important as it places a barrier for your nails from the color applied and helps put back the nutrients cleaning and polish remover has taken out. I have been alternating between Avon's Nail Experts Mineral Strength and OPIs Original Nail Envy (which is a nail strengthener as well). I really like both and for most it would be product preference that would decide one over the other. For me, the only thing that would make me choose is the price and Avon's is quite a bit lower.

For my manicure today I wanted to do something sexy, sassy, and classic so I did, red! There is nothing fancy about this mani: just paint, add a top coat and done. I used OPIs Ali's Big Break which is a great option for red. It has some sparkle in it with tiny red glitter in the polish. I love this red since it really is a true red. I have ran into may colors that I thought were a true red and after it dried there was a purple or pink hue to them. I will have to remember this color for our Christmas party this year. It will look great with a little black dress!
